Velobind or Strip Binding are another way to bind documents. It is a simplified approach for legal offices or accounting firms that need to create a permanently bound document. If you are doing large statistical documents or reference material that will be used by a lot of different people, velobind provides the most durable approach to document binding.
How does Velobind work?
Strip Binding is simple, you punch several small holes along the edge of an unbound book. The binding is a plastic strip that looks like a long comb with plastic tines. You simply insert the long combs into the top of the book through the corresponding holes on the back of the book.
The book is then placed on a machine like the Tamerica Securebind™ (Velo®) Binding Machine V2000-Pro that holds the book tightly while the excess length of the tines is cut and the tips melted to seal the bind.
The strips come in 3 varieties of pin sizes including:
- 11 Pin
- 4 Pin
- 9 Pin
The 11 pin comes with the most color selections including:
- black
- white
- navy
- dark gray
- green,
- burgundy
The others come in black and navy.
The pin lengths vary from 1” to 3” allowing for large document binding.
Strip Binding (VeloBind) is a great alternative to either coil or comb for larger documents that need a permanent binding solution. It will help protect the documents and keep all your pages together.
