MBM 2360 Destroyit Deskside Strip-Cut Shredder

January 5, 2010 · Filed Under Corporations, Products, Shredders, Small Business · Comments

I once made coleslaw with a shredder that looked a little like the 2360 Destroyit Deskside Strip-Cut Shredder, but I wouldn’t recommend putting cabbage through this machine. Credit cards, sheets with staples and forgotten paperclips – yes. Fresh produce of any kind – no.

How is it Used?

The 2360 Strip-Cut Destroyit has all the safety features of the Cross-Cut model and the list is impressive. It features an electronically controlled, transparent safety shield in the feed opening. It also has an “Easy Switch” control element that uses color codes and back-lit symbols to indicate operational status. There’s also an automatic reverse and power cut-off to avoid paper jams. However, unlike the cross-cut model, this one can handle double the number of sheets in the feed (12-14). If you’re not satisfied with the 3/16″ strips that this version slices, the cross-cut might be more your style. But, for the record, I don’t like my coleslaw minced. A strip-cut will do nicely.

Do you think we’d be in this credit crisis if everyone had the 2240 Destroyit Business Deskside Strip-Cut Shredder? It would be so fun for everyone to feed their credit cards into this machine that we’d have billions less in credit card debt and the big banks wouldn’t be so big!

How is it Used?

Well, the MBM 2240 Strip-cut isn’t an economic savior, but it is quiet and powerful. The Destroyit Cross-Cut features automatic start and stop controlled by photo cell and a single, multifunction control switch with pilot light for stand-by, stop (off), and reverse. The high quality, hardened steel cutting shafts take staples and paper clips, but also boasts a lifetime warranty just in case. You can feed 5-6 sheets at a time until the 5 gallon drum is all full of strips that measure a skinny 3/16″.

Formax 8300SC Strip-Cut Deskside Paper Shredder

This Formax model is like Pac-Man. That little yellow sphere would just eat dot after dot, in a never-satisfied gorgefest of dots, fruit, and blue ghosts. The Formax 8300SC Strip-Cut Paper Shredder will eat paper after paper, but still small enough to fit comfortably in your office or cubicle.

How is it Used?

While I wouldn’t put fruit or blue ghosts into the Formax 8300SC, but you can feed up to 8 sheets at once, at 27 feet per minute! Don’t worry if you miss any staples or paper clips. The Formax’s special heat-treated steel cutters require minimal oiling and tear through documents fast. Your neighbors might be jealous of all your shredding fun, but you can easily lend them your 8300SC by simply rolling the heavy duty metal cabinet over to their office on the caster wheels.
