Credit Card Laminating Pouches

These laminating pouches may be credit card sized, but that doesn’t make them credit card specific. You can use them for making wallet cards, IDs or customer loyalty cards for your business.

How is it Used?

Just like any other laminating pouch, simply slip the wallet card into the pouch, add a carrier cover if it’s needed and run it through the laminating machine. They can be used with any brand of laminator and come in 3 different laminate thicknesses (5 mil, 7 mil and 10 mil).

The lamination process will protect your wallet cards from UV light, wear and tear and possible water damage. This makes them an ideal protective coating for cards that are going to be used regularly. So, if you run a business where you’re giving loyalty cards to customers, do them a favor and laminate them.

And How Much Does it Cost?

A box of 500 credit card laminating pouches at Lloyd’s is just $7.98. Meanwhile, a pack of 25 at an office supply store will cost you anywhere from $10-$25, so this is a huge savings.

Laminating your photographs and digital image printouts helps to protect them from moisture, finger prints and general wear and tear. You can make the job a little easier with standard photo size laminating pouches.

How is it Used?

Just like any other laminating pouch, simply slip the photograph or photo sized printout into the pouch, add a carrier cover if needed and run it through the laminating machine.

Because photos come in different sizes, Lloyd’s of Indiana sells photo size laminating pouches in 3×5, 4×6,5×7 and 8×10 in thicknesses ranging from 3 mil – 10 mil.

It’s important to note that some laminators can get too hot, causing a photograph or digital printout to bubble. If you’re planning to laminate large quantities of photographs, you may want to also consider getting a photo laminator. The Akiles Prolam 330 Plus Photo Laminator (link: http://www.lloydsofindiana.com/akiles-prolam-330-plus-photo-laminator-prolam330plus.html) offers an even heat distribution and bubble-free photo lamination.

And How Much Does it Cost?

A box of 100 photo size laminating pouches at Lloyd’s is just $6.68. That’s significantly cheaper than what you’ll find in most office supply stores, where a package of 25 photo pouches might cost you as much as $1 per pouch.

For companies still using or storing IBM data cards, laminating pouches can help protect these cards from deterioration caused by UV light, moisture and regular use. Even in storage, these cards can be damaged by dust and moisture, but lamination helps to delay that process.

So, what makes 3 1/8″ x 4 1/2″ so special anyway? We’re not really sure, it’s just always been the special size when it comes to laminating pouches. Big enough for your average Rolodex card, but too small for an index, it’s just ‘special.’

Circulation cards are typically intended to be used regularly and over a long period of time – which is why lamination makes sense. The process protects the document, making sure it lasts.
