Best of Class Booklet Makers

Akiles Booklet Mac

Akiles Booklet Mac

We get a lot of calls from institutions like schools and community organizations and businesses who want to be able to make a lot of small booklets in-house, but they don’t need a full binding system. We usually recommend our booklet makers – they can handle up to 800 booklets in an hour, they’re compact and they’re easy to use.

What Do They Do?
A booklet maker or booklet machine basically creates booklets by taking a stack of paper and then folding it and stapling it along the spine (this is called a saddle staple). It’s ideal for making pamphlets, reports, bulletins, newsletters and, of course, booklets.

Our booklet makers are automated, meaning they can be interfaced with a collator to automate the entire booklet making process. So, no more counting, sorting, stacking, folding and stapling by hand.

What Brands Do We Have?
Here at Lloyds of Indiana, we sell two brands of booklet machines – The Akiles Booklet Mac and the FD 170 Booklet Maker.

The Akiles can produce up to 800 booklets in an hour and can make booklets up to 64 pages in thickness. There’s no warm-up time and it can handle folding and stapling or both simultaneously. It’s ideal for short jobs at a print shop, businesses and institutions like schools, churches or community organizations.

The Formax FD 170 Booklet Maker can fold up to 15 sheets at once (making a 60-page double-sided booklet) and, like the Akiles, can do up to 800 booklets in an hour. It can also handle stapling for a polished look.

How Much Do They Cost?
The two booklet makers that we carry cost upwards of $2000. The Akiles BookletMac is currently on sale for $2199 ($300 less than standard market price) and the FD 170 Booklet Maker sells on our site for $2995.
