The beginning of a long journey in learning and growing for both parents and child which commences with a single event. A birth is something more than a special event.

What part of our lives is more rewarding, more thrilling than the birth of a child?

At Lloyd’s we understand that this event is something more than ordinary and requires a gift that is somewhat extraordinary as well. Something a little more unique than the average sweater or receiving blanket should commemorate the birth of a new child to someone you care about.

Although lifestyles differ widely from each other, and not every parent will appreciate the same type of gift, Lloyd’s of Indiana’s Gifts-Keepsakes.com truly has something for everyone.

Gifts-Keepsakes.com can offer that something extra when you are searching for the perfect gift for a new mother and child.

As you peruse the Gifts-Keepsakes site choosing from among the offerings there, note the quality and unique kind of gifts that are offered. Nearly all may be personalized in different ways to serve as gifts in many different capacities and for many events.

These gifts are unique yet able to be used in many ways. This type gift will serve well as it can be personalized with something that calls to mind the unique capacity of the event you are trying to commemorate.

A photo clock, such as the piano finish clock available at gifts-keepsakes.com could be include a personalized plaque that contained something more than a name and event, but rather, using this as the jumping off point, you might use it to create something that is completely different than the original intent for the piece.

When searching for a gift that is more than unusual, even completely original, you might personalize the plaque with the date and time of birth, while using the photo opening, which measures 4 inches by 6 inches, to add your own personal touch to an already lovely gift.

A photo of the newborn in the nursery will enhance the clock and remind mother of the event itself.

Using a good quality printer or your own painting or embroidery skills you could create a sampler to insert into the photo aspect of the clock to make a gift that is not only thoughtful but completely original and as such, priceless.

These are heirloom quality gifts; those things which are so original that the new arrival, when he or she in turn has grown to have children of their own, will continue to use your thoughtful gift for their own childrens rooms.

For a Christian parent, who will gently find ways to inspire faith in their own children, the inspirational plaque entitled “One Solitary Life” which can also be found on gifts-keepsakes.com , might be the perfect reminder of their own faith and a wonderful gift idea for the nursery of a new baby. Reminders of their faith can be comforting to both parent and the child as he or she grows, while the gentle image will enhance any room in which it is used..

Every parent has a need to carry several items with them to provide for the care of a new infant. These items can easily be mislaid when out and about with the new little one.
Using a bit of creativity and some imagination Lloyds can supply you with the answer to custom identification tags for your baby items.

Uploading an image that you have designed on a computer or by hand, to include a name and address to Gifts-keepsakes.com will help them to produce custom identification tags from their luggage tags, which might be very useful for such items as a diaper bag or a favorite toy, which if lost, will be returned by virtue of your thoughtful gift and imagination.

The “As I grow line takes a growth chart and makes it something more, by the addition of inspirational verses and quotes to a giraffe print growth chart that might be used in a play room, or a dressing room for the new arrival.

These charts offer room for small notations when charting the growth of your child, and feature comments that every parent will appreciate and live by.

When combined with the “As I grow” wall plaque differing for either a boy or a girl, the two could combine to make a unique and appreciated gift for the new baby that the parents would appreciate as much as the child would.

There are many ways in which the items you purchase from gifts-keepsakes.com can be used, since each is able to be customized in so many ways. Uploading of images or scanned art, or you own original created verses, any item that will be created will be a one of a kind.

Gifts which are as easily customized as these are, create virtually limitless possibilities for gift giving that will be both useful and greatly appreciated. When you shop at gift-keepsakes.com the possibilities for original gift giving are limited only by your imagination and creativity.

“For about $1,000 you can print your own high quality, high security ID cards”

So speaks Lloyds of Indiana President Gary Jones, who enumerates the reasons why ID badges and ID cards have become nearly a necessity in today’s world. Personal safety and corporate privacy cannot be over emphasized in the world today, yet some companies still function without the simplest form of assuring that the person who is inside their building really belongs there.

Keeping your visitors, employees and your records safe from harm is critical. One of the best ways to accomplish this task is to use ID badges for your employees and visitors.

Using ID cars and ID Badges to identify your employees is not new to business. In the past, badges were used only for high security positions, conventions or larger parties. In today’s business world, ID badges are simple common sense – primarily because the cost of professional grade ID printing equipment has fallen dramatically. The image of being a secure facility, who takes their business seriously and wants their employees to do the same is enhanced by the use of ID badges.

ID badges don’t just control who enters and leaves your building. Professional ID badges help assure your customers that your employees are knowledgeable and capable of helping them to transact their business with your company. More importantly, they assure the customer that your employee is your employee Hospitals, larger companies and even small ones who use outside sales people, or have a great many visitors find this method of keeping track of who’s who and where they are convenient as well as necessary.

ID Badges, whether or not we pay attention to them, provide us a very real form of security that has become so important in recent years. We often take for granted that the person who works on us in the emergency room is really a nurse, but without that ID badge attached to her uniform, would we be so certain of her skills? Visitor and guest passes serve to assure your employees that guests belong in your building.

When a visitors pass is given, the employee has the means to be able to ask to assist a customer to the facility, or to assure that he or she has everything they need while they are there. The customer’s being able to view who it is they are dealing with, very often will prompt the employee to provide greater service than if they were anonymous to the visitor.

Additionally a quality ID badge permits the employees to see who is a visitor and to assure that they can report any behavior or activity that is suspect. Company employees may be charged with questioning politely those who are not wearing an id badge and asking them how they may help them, which will provide for greater security within your facility.

With today’s ID Badge Printers and ID Printing Services, price is no longer an excuse for not having a quality ID badge program. There are several methods of printing ID badges, but by far the most superior is the Dye sublimation printer. Dye sublimation printers like the Fargo Persona allow you to print photo quality images for your identification badges. The main difference between inkjet, which affords a low quality image and the dye sublimation printer is how the colors are applied to the paper.

Inkjet printers are laid down in individual dots which, when viewed up close show up as individual single color dots, making the images less than crisp and clear. Dye sublimation lays down the colors in a solid dye, which mixes the four main colors that are used in printing. As it prints the heads of the printer will heat to pass over the colored film, making the dyes embedded there vaporize, so that they will actually permeate the id card blank creating a far crisper and cleaner image. Inkjet printers create an image like the picture you see on TV versus dye sublimation that produces quality more similar to a photograph.

When the Id Badge has been printed, an additional feature which will provide for greater security is the application of a holographic seal over the id card, using what is called an overlaminate. Aside making your badge look more official, it makes the id badge harder to counterfeit. Many ID Printing systems support automatically applying an overlaminate as part of the printing process.

Another of the more useful features which may be added to an id badge is the ability to store data on a magnetic stripe or in a proximity chip. Magnetic stripe cards can be swiped like a credit card to provide data such as an employee number, name, id number or other identity data to the machine that will read it. When swiping a card isn’t practical, a proximity card, which will use radio waves to communicate with a sensor, can do the job.

Equipped with a tiny proximity chip, a “prox card” is read when within a certain distance of the receiver. distances sometimes several feet, or perhaps only an inch or two away, the system will confirm the signal that is being offered belongs to a person who has a right to be in this given area. The access system will then provide access to the building or a particular area of the building to those who are authorized to be there.

You can find the means to learn about and to implement some of this this much needed technology for use in your ID badges by a visit to Lloyds of Indiana, at http://www.lloydsofindiana.com.

When you decide the time has come to protect your employees and secure your facility there is no one more qualified than the team at Lloyd’s of Indiana to help you do it well, furnishing everything your company will need, at a cost that might just surprise you.

There are as many ways to print your photos as there are photos themselves, and likewise, nearly as many ways to preserve them.

Ink jet and dye sublimation, as well as traditional methods of printing photos will each benefit from some form of protection from the elements.

Sunlight, chemicals like the acid residue found on most papers and temperature extremes can cause pictures to fade, discolor.

Coatings can be applied to the finished photo, which will put a well distributed coating of a chemical base on the surface of your photograph , which dries to a thin film to protect your photograph.

The protective film is not thick enough to protect the photo against water damage or acid residue, but provides a degree of protection against fingerprints and ultraviolet damage.

Albums also provide reasonable protection for photos – so long as they are stored in a temperature controlled, dry place.. Albums provide great protection with acid free paper and thin film pages, but do not protect against humidity or water damage.

For the ultimate in protection, consider laminating your photographs. Lamination protects against high light, humidity, chemicals, fingerprints (you can actually wash a laminated picture with soap and water) and nearly any other environmental factor. Laminating works by encasing the photo in a transparent plastic shell. The degree of protection provided by photo laminating can be adjusted by altering the thickness of the laminate used.

The supplies necessary to protect your photographic memories with lamination are minimal. Usually all it takes is a pouch laminating machine, and special photo pouches. Photo laminating pouches such as LoydsofIndiana.com’s PhotoPouch brand are specially sized and formulated to work with traditional photograph prints as well as inkjet, laser prints and dye sublimation prints. PhotoPouches will protect your professional or personal quality photographs, are easy to use and provide for your photos protection at a cost that is more than reasonable for home or business use. Laminating machines can be purchased which will coat and seal photographs up to 13 inches in width. The machines themselves are easy to use.

The cost to laminate your photos will be about 10 cents per photo, which seems a very small price to pay for the peace of mind you get back knowing your business or home photos are protected from the elements that might damage or destroy them. In comparison to losing the photo of a lifetime, or losing critical photographic evidence makes that 10 cent investment seem tiny.

PhotoPouch brand laminating pouches are exclusively available from Lloyd’s of Indiana (www.lloydsofindiana.com) and select distributors. Lloyd’s can provide for your laminating needs with machinery and photo pouch supplies, purchased from an easy to search web site which will keep track of your cumulative orders and any discounts you may have coming, to assure that not only your photos are protected, but so is your time.

About the Author.

She takes great pride in her lightening and weather photography, and in getting just the perfect shot of something other people would choose to take cover from.

Prior to selling any photograph for poster use, she always laminates the image for protection during shipping and after it arrives at its destination. She believes in the old adage, a picture is worth a thousand words, but adds, “ only if they are protected from the ravages of time and elements.”

“Today’s ink jet and dye sublimation printed photographs need special protection”.

So says the President of Lloyds of Indiana, and he could not be more correct in his words. The protection of our photos is of paramount importance whether they are taken for business, such as in the case of the realtor’s photo array, or for personal use, to document an important life event for ourselves, our business, or our children.

Business documentation is a necessity in today’s world. Low cost digital photography has made it easier to add photographs to business record, but traditional filing methods often expose photographs to damaging acids. The result: a photo may be rendered useless in a few years in the filing cabinet. Because photographic evidence is often used by individuals as well as companies and law enforcement agencies to illustrate and emphasize actions, or lack of action at any given time.

Your important life events are often documented in the form of photos for your children and grandchildren so that they are not only committed to memory, but illustrated in color for them to view time and time again. Unfortunately, modern inkjet and dye sublimation printers don’t provide any protection from chemicals and environmental factors that can lighten, darken and alter colors.

Your business proposals are a key element in the sales of your product, and often will be the deciding factor in whether or not you close the deal.

Binding the proposal in a professional way will assure your success in making the project look like the high end package it is supposed to be.

Gary Jones, president of LloydsofIndiana.com comments, “A $50,000 proposal should not be presented in a $2 plastic folder.”

Too often we neglect the proposal cover and present something less than we might offer had we simply spent the nominal amount necessary to purchase a binding machine to give us the competitive edge in marketing our product. Putting the right cover on your proposal can make the difference between making $10,000 on your project, making $20,000, or simply losing the bid to another provider.

Many of us, being unaware of the various methods of binding, or in an attempt to save what might amount to a few dollars, will present a proposal in such a way that it screams “inappropriate” to anyone who views it. The proposal wrapped in that $1.50 office supply store report cover might be worth a great deal, it might even be far better than that of our competitors, yet if is is not presented in such a way that it reflects well on our company, in many cases it will be overlooked for those which do. Imagine the frustration of losing bid after bid and not understanding the reasons for it.

As Lloyd’s of Indiana’s Jones comments,“I wonder how many proposals I’ve lost over the years because I didn’t thake the time and spend the $5 necessary to make my proposal look like a million bucks.”

Plastic binders, stapled pages or two dollar office supply store binders just don’t project the image that builds confidence and shows that corners will not be cut. A proposal isn’t completed until its properly attired for a successful foray into the business world. Some general guidelines to aid you in deciding what is and is not the appropriate dress for you particular proposal are:

If the project will net under 5K, it is acceptable to use plastic binding to present the proposal

Between 5k and 15K, you will be better served to use a wire spiral type of binding.

For anything over 20K, only hardbound, book style binding is appropriate dressing for your proposal.

It is so much less costly in the long run to purchase that binding machine,(which may cost your company 150.00-$1000) and to bind your proposals properly before you send them out.
Binding your proposals takes little time and costs relatively little when compared to losing business.

Binding machines range in price from $150 for a basic plastic comb binding machine to several thousand for a high capacity, fully automatic steel binging system. The cost of supplies is depends on they type of binding, finish and size of the document. Plastic comb is generally the least expensive, where a perfect binding machine (which literally makes cloth bound hardback books) will be the most expensive. For many businesses, the UniBind system is a great choice because of it’s versatility. For low dollar proposals, UniBind can apply a simple clear plastic or card stock cover. For higher end documents, UniBind can bind your proposal in a logo embossed book-style hard cover.

UniBind is also unique in that binding materials can be reused and mistakes can easily be corrected. According to Garry Jones, “Unibind is especially good if you are prone to making mistakes. You can unbind your proposal, replace the page with the mistake and rebind it an no one will know the difference.” A UniBind binding machine costs about $550 with supplies ranging from $1.25 for a clear plastic soft cover to $4-$8 for a hardbound, cloth finished book cover.

Dressing up your proposal will never cover for proposing the wrong solution, poor writing and uncompetitive pricing. Finishing your proposal with appropriate binding will provide a glimpse of the pride you take in your company and your company’s attention to detail and workmanship.
Secondary only to the proposals content should be the way in which it is presented, which will afford your recipient a glimpse of the pride you take in both your company and your workmanship. Attention to detail sells.
