Double Loop Wire Binding is an elegant approach to finishing documents, making presentations, or proposals. If you combine a double loop wire spine with a thick cover, special paper, or other custom design, it makes your presentation stand out from your competitors. Black is the most common color used, but you can find other colors to match your branding or enhance your proposal or presentation.

Let’s walk through double loop wire binding and review the different sizes available, its uses and how many sheets they can hold. A big difference in wire binding is there is a pitch requirement. Wire comes in a pitch of 3:1 or 2:1. 3:1 pitch is for smaller size documents and 2:1 pitch is for bigger size documents.

1/4” or 5/16” – 3:1

  • Quantity is 100 per box
  • Binds up to 3/16” to 1/14.”
  • Sheet Capacity is 45 to 60 sheets

Wire binding is for larger size documents which are a big difference from wire to coil and comb. The starting size is 45 pages.

3/8” or 7/16” – 3:1

  • Quantity is 100 per box
  • Binds up to 5/16” to 3/8.”
  • Sheet Capacity is 75 to 90 sheets

With wire spines of this size, you can get creative with your document covers. It allows you to have a thicker cover made of elegant materials to make you look like a million bucks.

  • Binds up to 7/16” to 1/2.”
  • Sheet Capacity is 105 to 120 sheets

5/8” or 3/4” – 2:1

  • Quantity is 50 per box
  • Binds up to 9/16” to 5/8.”
  • Sheet Capacity is 135 to 160 sheets
